    ... your carry-ons. If you have knee or back problems ask for a wheelchair either when you buy your ticket or when you check-in. There are many other advantages to a wheelchair: 1. the person pushing knows exactly where you are going 2. if you are late they will be waiting for you 3. you usually don't wait on lines at security and at customs. And the person or persons traveling with you get to come with you. It is well worth a $5 tip.

    3:30am and we are ready to roll. We have the dogs, the bikes, and enough food to last 3 months!

    So, we were up at 2am, left Rocky Point at 3:30, and had the BEST ride out of New York ever....and I mean EVER! It took less than 10 minutes to get to the George Washington Bridge from the Cross-Bronx Expressway. For those of you unfamiliar with that nightmare of a road...it is usually faster to walk to the GW....there is always traffic. ...

    We arrived late evening in Madison. It had a small downtown with a medley of some charming shops. We are almost starving , though had driven only for an hour. The coffee at one the shops was fantastic. What was amazing was sipping the cuppa in the warm sun and watching people go past downtown. There was also an ice-cream shop, the sole store open till 11!! It claimed to be the best ice cream store in CT . I do not know how true the claim stood but it did ...

    It was pouring when we left. Good thing Herb and Marsha suggested that we have Danny pick us up at 7:45 instead of 8:15. Once we got the the Knopps, to pick them up Danny took back streets and the Expressway was moving again as it was after 9. Our flights were good and we arrived in Spokane, retrieved our luggage and picked up our rental vehicle (an 11 passenger van - we needed the space for luggage and camera equipment).
