      ... the Natick churches were gay friendly, with a female reverend. What a perfect little town! We used the afternoon to slowly drive down to Cape Cod. Once again we avoided highways and enjoyed the drive through all the little towns. New England has so much history that every town seems to have so much spirit and soul to it that the drives are really fun. We stopped in a town called Sandwich, right at the entrance to Cape Cod.       ... Yup, there they were, the men trying to look cool in shorts and trainers, baseball cap or regular Levi's and a tucked in t-shirt. The women? Polished, neat, dapper, manicured, 'permed' and/or dyed hair, ear-rings and necklaces reminiscent of junk shops. Ethel, Mabel, Martha - they were all there in abundance. None of them seemed able to walk without assistance, doubtless not helped by their weight; two steps to get out of the dining room had to be negotiated singly ...
