... the town being busy because it is to be a holiday weekend, Halloween, Harvest, Columbus Day?
Observations? We have not seen much bird life so far.Petrol/gasolene is not as cheap as it used to be, ranging from $3.15 -$3.50+ per US gallon.Many Americans eat out all the time and breakfasts tend to be huge.Tipping is an expectation in restaurants and motels.Tourist spots are not well signposted.Driving is easy and the standard of the roads is good in general.

Now this has to be the quintessential New England town! It is my favorite place so far. Of course staying at the Woodstock Inn may have contributed to that.
