nothing fancy but exceeded my expectations massively!

Wasn't expecting much but it was clean, tidy and a nice place to be. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of fridge space, cookers and even free spices and oil to use. The lounge area was great, had loads of board games and DVDs, plus a BBQ outside. The star couldn't have been more helpful from getting a personal tour and then shown to my room to the drop-offs at the bus station when I left, all in all a great 3 nights spent here, I would definitely recommend!

This place is absolutely disgusting and feels quite unsafe. I would never stay there again.

    First day of rain :(

A travel blog entry by steffielou on Aug 15, 2014

Woke up this morning to the sound of rain clattering against the window and even though I knew it was coming it was still a bit depressing!
I faffed around for a bit reading, getting ready, having brekkie downstairs and watching TV, all in the hope that it might ease off. Think again!

Pebbles: Last night spent chatting about music, winning every game we played & betting on the outcome of the world cup aus/eng. (Defs gonna win that money). Thought about going in the sea, but only contemplated it before falling into bed. Woke up today = hungover. Had no idea where i was. Fell out of bed. GREAT START TO THE DAY! After having a …

We got into Townsville around 3pm and were picked up straight away by our hostel. When we arrived we were lead to our dorm to discover we had a fridge in our room, such a luxury. We then decided we needed to visit the shopping centre because we had run out of pants and food. Our main priorities, obviously. The next day we were heading off to …

Flying visit to Townsville and Magnetic Island

Soaking wet we boarded the bus to Townsville. We arrived to beautiful sunshine but blustry winds. A nice stroll down Flinders street, filled with bars we headed for The Strand. A long walk along the coastline to the lagoon at the end. Wind swept was a slight understatement. A chilled out evening researching south america and a …

Townsville despite the name is actually a city south of Cairns. The main draw of this city is an island off its coast called Magnetic Island. We took a return ferry out for $32 in order to do some of the many walks around the island. We started off with a small waterfront walk from Nelly Bay right along the coast into Arcadia, a small neighborhood …
