... over run with cars John D Rockerfella Jr. built 45 miles of winding carriage roads throughout the park connected by 17 bridges. As we could not get a horse & carriage ride we decided to walk along the charming roads to look at some of the lovely old stone bridges.

... whales feeding. We had a wonderful time and saw 8 fin whales and one basking shark. The Finback whales circled their dinner and when you see 4 or 5 about 50ft each, it is a cool site. The boat ride out was nice and the seas were small, so no sea sickness. What a way to spend about 4 hours on the seas!!

... streets with shops and restaurants in clapboard houses painted many colours. There is a main square where there is a church with Tiffany windows and a town museum.

Along the waterfront there are some new properties, condominiums and a hotel and shops and a Marina style area which is where we board the trolley for the 2 1/2 hour tour of Bar Harbor and the park. Our driver and guide,Ron, is a local and gives us a great commentary and maybe more than we ...

... the fuss over the popovers. I prefer a nice biscuit but they aren’t famous for biscuits. The first popover I had today was a little burnt but the second one was better. They are best eaten quickly before they cool too much and become hard. They are served with butter and strawberry preserves. I also had the house blend tea and it was pretty good! It is nice to sit and relax after a morning of walking.

Rock climbing with Pringles

... spotted a seal and climbed a giant cliff of miscellaneous rocks that formed a rock skyscraper. We enjoyed some Pringles after our hike up the rock pile. We were so taken by the view we wanted to see all we could of the scenery and wild life so we booked a whale watching tour, but it was cancelled due to fog. It was disappointing but at least we enjoyed a beautiful day in Bar ...
