Penis Cola... hehehe!!!

... before we had some good giggles!

2nd

Kim and I went for a run this morning and left Val with Scooby and all our gear – made for an easier run for me today! Took Kim awhile to warm up but once she did she set a good pace and we managed about 8km. Back at Scooby Val had made friends with council workers that were tidying up the van area and a few of our neighbors.

Flamin' Flamingos

... information board and Kim said what is that smell and she looked down and there was a 2 m long catfish decaying in the sun. Very smelly! You could take a boat trip but since the wind was still trying to blow us over we decided to give it a miss. I even tried my hand at flying as the wind was so hard – by opening my jacket and using it as wings but no luck.

The "eternally sunny port"... CLOSED MONDAY!!!!

The wind howled and rocked Scooby all last night. We all thought we were going to be blown away! Caught the bus into Tarragona, which the LP sells as an eternally sunny port with lots of interesting Roman sites. Well being a Monday all of the sites were closed but we did manage to view the amphitheatre from the road and wander ...

Surfing in the Med

... a few hours. Not a hard task for them as there were plenty of cafes and shops nearby. The surf was head high but pretty gutless, not great but I never expected to get the board out in the Med so it was a real bonus.

After drying up the next priority was to find a bar showing the Barcalona vs Real Madrid football match probably the biggest game in the La Liga schedule. Not surprisingly everyone was showing the game the difficulty proved to find one ...

How did we get here?

... West. And trust me 4degrees is a **** load if you remember there are only 360degrees!!! So we ended up in the complete middle of nowhere but luckily after a short search we found a campsite that was open and grasped that we had just lost a day of travelling! At least we got an awesome sunset out of it! Unfortunately the next morning was pouring as we made our way to the campsite we were supposed to have been at already. I repeat…My bad ;-)!!

Trip to Teruel

It is funny - I always wanted to go to Teruel...because I read a Entry about that place here at the travelpod...somebody went there and it looks kinda neat... That's what I experienced also - this city of Teruel is very different to all the other Spanish cities...it gives you an mediaeval impression...if you look at the pics you'll see - it's quite different here. I think it is ...

Relaxing in the villa

We spent a few days with in a lovely villa in tiny hamlet outside of Xert in the middle of nowhere. The villa location wasn't what we had expected (we had hoped for some sort of free standing villa with countryside views) but it was great inside. The owners must have spent a fortune doing all the woodwork inside so it was a real shame that it as ...

Mas Tomates!!!!

... it was a little bit disappointing, most of the tomoatoes staid on the main streets. It was funny though some people brought theyre own to chuck at people, good call. So this lasted for about an hour with the trucks making two dumps each of tomatoes. At noon another firework went off and the tomatoe throwing stopped. At this point people were absolutely covered in tomatoes, like head to toe soaked in them. This is when the locals start to hose people down ...

Accommodation Anarchy - Part 1

... to smoke in the car!). Dropping us off in the city, we waved goodbye to our never to be seen really close Spanish friends... umm what was their names? If by any chance they come across this travel log - I just wanted to say Thank you again! Into the town of Valanecia and some serious bar work was completed as we just chilled and watched the world go by. Tomorrow was going to be the highlight of the trip, the La Tomatina Festival in Brunol.!!
