... Terminal! We hit traffic at 3pm heading south over the Fraser river but make it to Tswassen with time to spare. Reservations put us at the head of the line, first on, first off. Well worth the fee. The weather turned beautiful and sunny just in time for the boat ride. Mom loved the views and it brought back great memories. More on that later. ... and to get in one had to enter through a specially constructed “Snow Tunnel”. There we picked up some pretty amazing data about the park, its huge annual snowfall, and of course details of its beautiful lake.

Crater Lake receives an average of 44 feet of snow every year and it can snow up there around 2000m ASL during any month of the year. The almost continuous snow clearing its staff take on results in enough snow being cleared by ploughs and blowers ...
