Oh my gooood!! We love free wine!

... I believe! While all this has been going on we´ve been trying to figure out the best way to get to Cusco to get back onto our itinerary. Originally we were going to spend this time in Bolivia but this hostel is too cool to rush away from, so now it looks like we´ll bus it up to Salta tomorrow (about 20 hours) and then try to hook up a connection into Peru from there... None of us really know but I´m sure it´ll all work out.

We asked a passer-by who gave us directions to a kiosk 4 blocks away. Upon reaching this kiosk, thewoman serving shook his head and pointed down the road. We headed down the road and asked in the next kiosk. The old man sucked in his breath, shook and then scratched his head and ...

Days 34 - 36 Mendoza

... first there was the oriental market, then the oriental dance school.. could this be a "madrasa"? In fact it turned out to be just a group of culinary school students taking a break. There were some interesting things in Mendoza too. The history museum has placards in Breil for the visually impaired; very progressive. However the artifacts are ...

... very relaxed in. It is about 1000km from Buenos Aires, and is the centre of the wine making industry in Argentina. It sits right next to the Andes, and this creates a micro climate that is fundamental in the wine of this region being so good. The streets are lined with Sycamore trees, which give you some protection from the intense summer heat (it was 34º degrees today!), these trees are watered by over 500km of Acequias or irrigation ditches, which form a natural ...

Butchers should cut meat, not my hair" http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog-en tries/pwong/6/1216089180/tpod.html ) Being able to speak Spanish meant that I was able to give some instructions, which I wasn't able to in Groningen since I don't speak any Dutch! Though it still wasn't quite what I wanted, it was close enough, and I couldn't complain since it only cost me $7. But I think they could have improved ...

Hola Argentina...Adious Mendoza!

... very talkative. I found out he used to be a millionaire and used to breed horses. When he was a young man he arrived to Canada from Greece. He didn't understand the citizenship papers he was filling out and put Diamantis as his first name then again as his last name. So, his legal name is Diamantis Diamantis. Awesome! He was also staying in the dorm room and was probably filmed. - One more good thing...there was a McDonald's here. If ...
