    Set off early for Monterey on the pacific coast. The drive was really nice. Went through a beautiful place called Cottonwood, and a huge lake. Drove through mountains with little villages scattered about, and some flat farmland. Got to Monterey early, as the drive only took 3 hours.     ... which is a bit of a pest, but oh well, nemind. We fly out at 10 pm tomorrow night and get into Sydney 10 am on Tuesday. The whole flight time is only 17 hours but we lose that day we picked up on the day over here.

    ... He inflated the tyre and it hissed out air. He replaced it with the spare and showed me the nail through the original. Also he asked if I had hit anything. The rim of the wheel had a big dent in it which wasn't helping the tyre to seal when inflated. I hadn't hit anything had I ? Then I remembered the huge piece of tyre I hit on our first day.
