    ... guards were telling people not to go out past the breakers (past the white water). We talked with a fellow from California, who surfed and was teaching a younger man, maybe his son how to get through the waves. All of a sudden two jet skis came to the area. They got the attention of the life guard and dropped a sea turtle into the water. The life guard grabbed his fins and went out into the surf to save this turtle. He brought it in ...

    ... said No No No but when you're on a trip like this, you have to pop out of your bubble and so I quickly asked to take the pic too. The big guy didn't feel real at all and the little one I barely even felt. Was fun. Our friends from LA, the gal, was deathly afraid of them and when they came near her she screamed this blood curdling scream. We laughed and laughed. Was pretty awesome.

    ... Looking at Jenny, I would have assumed she was a seal, but we learned that sea lions are different from seals in that they have ears (tiny ones at that). For a "small" fee of $15 a picture, you could take home a fresh print almost immediately after. One-by-one, the kids cautiously approached Jenny and waited with apprehensive looks on their faces until Jenny leaned in and gave them a smooch on the cheek.
