... from the red dirt. We are staying closer to town though, in a hotel, for ease of exploring – we’re spitting distance from the Marina, downtown and Medondo Beach.

It’s day four. We’re slowly getting used to seeing shotguns. The flirting. The hassling. To people consistently speaking to us in Spanish first because "you look more Mexican than I do"! We’ve been given massages in our dining chairs by schmoozy ...

I chuckled, but didn't respond, and turned my face away whilst putting on my sunglasses... he then shouted "ya te viiiii wuera, ya te vi" ahaha it was so funny and all the girls opposite were laughing too, and this saying stuck with me for ...

Not enjoying Tampico

A travel blog entry by benneal on Dec 03, 2012

We arrive in Tampico tired and get a taxi out to a hotel that no longer exists. Our taxi driver suggests another which is undergoing building work, and we end up at the beach front where half the hotels are stupidy expensive towers of sanity, or grimy part-time brothels. We end up back at the bus station and buy our tickets out for the next morning!
