At 7:00pm, the Legend of the Seas left Puerto Vallarta’s port and headed out into total darkness. While standing on the top deck, no stars shone above us but the breeze was quite warm! I was enjoying once more the last hours of the day at sea without being sick!

"Estas almohadas huelen MAL." Joanna broke out into a chuckle, and the ladies joined her, half laughing and half apologizing. Every time I spoke in Spanish to any of the staff members, they would always smile and look away like "he couldn't be talking to me", so I would frequently repeat myself. I suppose the legions of foreign tourists ...
... keep the following in mind (sorry if it is repetitive)
- drug related crime is not targeting tourists
- think realistic - why would drug lords be on the train?? there's federal police on the train, too, so unless they are really stupid, they keep away
- most of the crime is around the boarder areas (and on both sides of the boarder!!), and the Canyon is still a couple of hours away from the boarder...
