... hot. I was sitting right by the window (very tinted) in the car, but it didn't matter. Should have worn a hat. Everyone wears hats! Who knew?

I think the most interesting thing was the "Salt Hotel". Yup! Made entirely of salt blocks. Even the beds....with mattresses on top. It looks just like ice, only it isn't cold. I have included photos. 26 rooms and stays booked. I would stay there....for 1 night, but there isn't a ...

... to have a long, hot shower and wash my hair. I felt a little dizzy and thought it might have been because I had the water too hot. When I was drying myself off, I felt a bit sluggish and could feel the beginnings of a headache. :-(

With Ash feeling shakey with a stomach bug, perfect timing as ever, the 6 hour hike into the canyon in the bright sunshine was daunting (hike from Cabanaconde to Sangale el Oasis via San Juan de Chuccho). The first 3 hours was a long and slow descent on slippery surface but since it is 'rainy' season the canyon has a lovely coating of green vegetation so we were treated to gorgeous views of the mountains and rivers. ... cakes (oh how I miss baking) Once that was over we strolled around the town looking for something to do, and came across a city bus tour. We haggled a discount, got them to take us to our hotel to get our cameras on the way and then started the tour.
