Rowan Oak and Ole Miss What an awesome day! After it took two hours to get ready and out the door.... (with 5 kids in the house, it is almost guaranteed that someone will be unhappy or in trouble or hurt at all times). We went to Rowan Oak to hike and tour the grounds. The trail was shady and fun with an activity card that led to a very silly game of leap frog. Many thanks to Hope for being a ...

... weird inaudible sounds coming from those I'm trying to communicate with. I was certain a camera behind a host was going to jump out and tell me I've been the butt of a joke being shared with others. I have discovered that I love the Megabus and I hate the Greyhound! the strange thing is the megabus is nicer and cheaper! it has free wifi, and plug sockets, and so far Ive always had 2 seats to myself! the Greyhound is packed full of people, is more expensive and just generally horrible! AND they charged me an extra $30 for my suitcase! arghhhhhhhh!
So I had been up all night on 2 different buses, and finally arrived in Grenada where I was picked up by ...

... Archeologists theorize that they were used for the housing of chiefs and for religious ceremonial purposes. We walked to the top of Emerald Mound at another site and it put you right at the treetop level. So many similarities to ancient Hawaiian heeiaus or temple grounds, thousands of miles apart and the same design and use, made of dirt rather than lava rock. We stopped for the night at Natchez State Campground, ...

Today, we have an easy schedule of only 80 miles riding. So with that in mind, along with the still steady drizzle soaking the bikes and roads, I decided to sleep in. Once underway, the rain lingered for about the first half of the ride, finally giving way to clear skies. We rolled into our destination, Oxford, Mississippi, before noon.

Oxford is best known as the home of the University of Mississippi, i.e. Ole Miss, and the segregation riots that ...
