... our tour of the area on our way back to Apple River. Once back home, we just enjoyed good conversation then headed out to Apple Canyon Lake for dinner.

Christina will love this. She knows how organized I am for directions and have a spreed sheet of every stop and gas station. Well folks, not tomorrow. Bill suggested we try a different route to Minneapolis so it should be interesting and fun to try a more adventurous route. Stay tuned tomorrow.

Alex was pretty quiet in the morning, even napping a little bit. The one thing that really perked him up was when he would hear a song he likes, and he would then sit up and sing. He loves to ...

After regaling the baby boomers around the breakfast table with tales of Tasmania over our chocolate cake and eggs benedict we headed towards the Effigy Mounds national monument. Travelling through the country back roads we encountered a couple of Amish carts. Just like the Great River Road we're following is known as a scenic byway, it turns out the road we were inadvertently on was signposted as an 'Amish Byway'. The effigy mounds are large mounds of earth ...
