... time to chill out we went out to find a spot for supper. We discovered the Augusta Mall nearby and had a deli dinner at McAllister's Deli. We then checked out the Mall which was very upscale. ... every morning from the kitchen window. One day, the sun shone on the ground frost and everything sparkled. Another day, the whispy clouds glowed red. Morning Glory it is.
The drive down was very scenic and an easy drive on good highways. It took us about 14 hours with an overnight stop in Weston, West Virgina. In December it gets very dark early and we were glad that we arrived here before the sun went down. No street lights and it is quite a way out ...
... aspect was that it didn't seem like a wealthy town. I assume that the golf club members come here for the day and the high tail it back to their mansions.
We went to the golf course and I spoke to the security guard who was just inside the entry gates. He advised me very politely that I was trespassing and that I could take as many photo's as I liked as long as I was outside of the gates.

... of appeal and a vibrant arts community. Not to mention if you are a horse person, it's a paradise, or a golfer for that matter as well.
Cathy and Arlen are our friends and neighbors from North Andover, MA and we go back about 36 years (wait, I'm not that old)...yeah right!! Also caught up with another friend from Hilton Head (the first couple we met when we moved there) Avery, and had a lovely lunch with her and Cathy. Thanks, Avery.

... the Bartram Country Club and Mark showed us some of the local area sights including the gates of the beautiful Augusta National Golf Club and downtown Augusta, which is pretty cool.
This trip was a bit of a blast from the past and confirmed we can no longer hang with the big dogs and function properly. Back to the comfortable role of grandparents as we head north to spend couple of days with our son Shawn and his beautiful family in New Bern, NC.
