    ... our door, and we have been entertained most of the day by watching the fisherman. Yes they are catching some big salmon. Some from shore, and then the natives are allowed to net them.
    Shandell met us for dinner, had some great fish and chips. So now we will be at the dealers door at 730am to beg for them to fix us. We talked to the salesman and he said they are good about working people in.

    ... Ruby Beach. A ranger at North Cascades told us to stop here. It was a mean, blowing, crashing sea. We walked up and down the beach, no shells of any sort. Cliff had his MSU sweatshirt and a guy said he was going to throw him in the ocean!!! Yep they were from Missoula and Griz fans!!! Cliff didn't ask where the rest of his war party was!     A lot of hours on the road today, but worth it to explore the story of Mt. St. Helen, its eruption in May 1980, and the eruption's catastrophic effect on the surrounding area.     ... this along in this pattern: biking, stopping to fill Kevin's tire while Mosquitos feasted on our oxygen rich blood, then biking again, until the elevation started to rise and we made it out of mosquito country. We found a nice spot to camp in a clearing along the road and I made my most ambitious meal to date on my supercat stove. A veggie soup with ramen noodles and 6 eggs.
