... famed Wellfleet oysters. They were gorgeously briny and slid off the shells perfectly. Main course was forgettable so we went to another bar.

Had a couple of super strong local beers and a couple of cocktails and went back to the dive bar where we started in the afternoon. The place had been transformed into a music venue and a band was in full swing playing some amazing jazz.

Summary

Drove 112 miles in 1.5 hours.

Highlights

I had no idea that Cape Cod was this close to Boston, it was a very easy and fast drive. I'm sure that in high season the route we took would be clogged up, however we had it almost to ourselves.

Tuesday, Day 4:
Everyone piled into 2 cars, and we headed out to the Cape Cod National Seashore, Salt Marsh Visitor's ...

LOVED today!!! Love, Love, Loved!!
We loaded up the dogs in the Jeep and headed out toward Plymouth.
We were told that as long as the girls were "Guide dogs" they could come in. Apparently they have never met Dasher. "Oh yeah, they are guide dogs. How did you know??" We were surprised at how wonderfully she behaved. There were several bus loads (and I do mean several) of kids that were dropped off for the day. We are talking several hundred here. They were on the ...

... spectacular it would be in the fall...there's no doubt that's how it got its reputation. Although we originally had aspirations of visiting Vermont - just to say we'd been there - our plans changed...yet again. A trip to the largest lake in New Hampshire, Lake Winnipesaukee, was next on our ad hoc agenda for the day. We took in gorgeous views from Center Harbor and Meredith, both of which were cozy little lake towns, and then ...
