... no doubt that we were in an American home, it felt rather English. Her kitchen had a wooden fireplace with well-used pots and pans hanging around it with a variety of dried herbs (or erb’s as they call them here!) There were also large worn rugs scattered about the living room which from their thread bare age did nothing to keep the iced cold tiles reaching our feet. Brrrrr!

Our Cape Cod experience is quite different to Cape May. While we have bikes available to us we can't cycle as the roads are narrow - no footpaths and no cycle lanes. There are bike trails around the Cape but we can't transport them in our rental car.
We can walk to 2 golf courses, can fish in the pond below our house but must tour by car. We found a really good natural history museum and a walk through ...

After that tour, we were going to drive at least half way to Cape Cod, but we discovered that Shanksville, PA was not far from our route, so we all stopped to see the Flight 93 crash site. Left Gloucester on Tuesday morning and sailed to Scituate Harbor late. Had to motor a good distance. The wind just wasn't in our favor and we had to get there before dark. Good think because as soon as we picked up the mooring, lightening and thunder began so we put up the Bimini , a cover over the cockpit so we could stay on deck.
