... was nice to get a real honest perspective form the locals on some things and there is still anger from hundreds of years ago for some things. One of the guys was in the Fusiliers and he talked about when the Queen Mum had died how they had been her regiment and how they had cried all day. It was very interesting imagining all those rough tough soldiers walking around all day crying. I very shortly went upstairs to bed as I was too tired to stay awake any longer.

... our way to accommodation near the airport. Next morning, after a 13 pound ($30Aus) taxi fare to the airport, 10 minutes away, we collected a hire car, and headed off towards Stover. We chose the scenic route, down the M5 motorway, and stopped to see Stonehenge. It was certainly an amazing site, and thanks to Jenn's National Heritage membership, free to visit (13 pounds saved there). I couldn't help thinking if this was in America ...

... spent most of the rest of Sunday in Regent's Park. Eventually I didn't go to the zoo at all. I have no idea why. I was mostly just sitting on the grass, a bit aside so that I was not in the way for the people who were playing football, and they were just about everywhere. It must have been my lucky night... an empty plane from Johannesburg to Heathrow, and three seats to myself. I slept like a baby, and awoke refreshed and rejuvinated and a few thousand kilometers from home this morning.
