    The desk people are very nice and the continental breakfast is ample.

    It says on the welcome sign for the little port city, that it is "Ontario's Feel Good Town!" Marketing genius I'm telling, genius!!

    ... draw and the parks staff said anything more than 4 1/2 feet they require a waiver be signed.... I said so close to the Rideau where they guarantee 5 feet. he said we can probably handle 6 feet. We left lock 4 and made it to lock 3 just as the gates were opened to let the two boats out on their way up the waterway.

    Locks, dams, falls, churches, architecture.... I love them all and we often seek ...

    Day 46 (June 1) -- Another fabulous sunny day and one with a little less driving than some but still on the road for 7 hours or so. We left Mallorytown and headed south to Mallorytown Landing on the shore of the St. Lawrence. We followed the shoreline quite close and could see why the area is known as the Thousand Islands.     The Edge has finally landed us at 'Das Schloss'. Excellent day to travel from the Comfort of Windsor under cloudy sky, pallatable traffic, coooooool temp but in the warmth of our rolling cocoon with two quiet excellent yorkies. Now.... waiting time to get back to the creek in November. Gas prices suck... For our american friends, canadian gas - around here - costs about US$4.50/US gallon, taking into account the currency exchange. Time for Zzzzzzzzzz. Love to ...

    ... which is named after Admiral Horatio Nelson who sailed into the English Bay harbour in 1784. This is quite the fort because it is protected from rough waters especially in hurricane season. Ships are still refurbished here. There is a big wheel that turns the ship on its side so barnicals can be scraped off the bottom and some of the wood replaced if and when needed. To refurbish a ship took about 6 months.
