    ... thought not in sight of the Med.,.. certainly acceptable as an over-night stay on our way north. As we travelled along the Mediterranean Coast, particularly around Alicante, there is obviously a large ex-pat British community living there. We struck a British radio station there as well.     ... The wild roses were rampant and I could smell them long before I saw them - I wonder why our wild roses at home don't smell like the French ones. At the top of the hill was a tiny hamlet with a pretty church, it all seemed perfect, and then I drove off and left it all behind!
