Very beautiful row houses - the typical ones you think of when thinking 'San Fran', I think anyway. - Haight Ashbury, the hippy zone - full of psychadelic shop fronts, houses and people in general. The pot smoking district..we didn't stop. - ocean beach, a pretty beach front but still has NOTHING on Australian beaches! Though the locals disagree. We finished the tour and before ...

      Last Day in Vancouver

A travel blog entry by sophiecocker on Jan 17, 2015

Being our last day in Vancouver we decided to do some washing in the morning, which allowed me to get quite a lot of the way. Today we headed back to Granville Island to see the market while it was open. It's pretty cool, a short 20 minute walk from our hostel over the bridge. We went for lunch and I got clam chowder, originated in Boston which was amazing. And rock fish, just tasted like cod! Pretty chilled day we didn't do a lot but organise ourselves for San ...

At 2pm we thought they needed to be reminded of freedom so set off on bikes over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. Wow Totally recommend this amazing track and views and bridge. Come on Auckland, we could cycle or walk for free!! However in winter 2pm on a lovely Saturday could be a bit late to set ...

The boys wanted to eat in a traditional American diner, with shiny red seats! We found one just off Union Square called, Lori's. Great burgers and fries all round.

Packing tonight in readiness for our four hour drive into Yosemite tomorrow.

What a fantastic city, a league of nations and cultures in one very hilly place, shabby chic with attitude. We will return.
