      ... Pool, we found a nice flat rock in sun and had ourselves a banana (and cliff bar) picnic and rest, before the hike back down. It was quite strenuous, and it doesn't help that the trail sometimes goes down, just so you can go up again (especially before the footbridge). Also we decided to go check out the bottom of the falls (where there is also a lovely pool) so that was another down so we could hike up again move!       ... to catch the famous cable car home, up Hyde and Powell streets. We waited in the queue for 1 1/4 hours! We should have done what the tour guides said to, walk up one block and wait to be picked up by the cable car which has to leave room to pick passengers up en route. With that sort of wait the cable car must be more for tourists now than being a serious part of the transport infrastructure. The one way tickets were $6 each. The ride was fun as it went ...
