    We got another early start and took the circuitous Hwy 97 to Brooks Memorial State Park.Not being residents, plus the internet reservations, made this the most expensive spot we've ever stayed. It's located in a narrow draw filled with timber and campers about fifteen miles north of Goldendale, Washington. It was quiet and cozy with friendly folks all around.

    ... leaders had prepared skits, and afterwards there was a leader competition which allowed kids the chance to cheer for their group leaders in a variety of goofy games. Lastly, all the leaders came up to the front and were given a jar of mayonnaise which was filled with frosting and told that if we ate it our kids would get a special treat.
