... Warwick and Selena made a much greater commitment travelling from their Queensland home especially to attend. The proceedings were restrained and tasteful and a worthy remembrance of those young men who came from the far side of the known world to fight and die in this part of France.

A new museum dedicated to the Battle of Fromelles was opened next to the cemetery the day before the dedication ceremony and it is a worthy attraction for the local community. ...

... We sat outside in the nice courtyard with a fountain and quiet atmosphere just off the highway. From Firestone, we headed to Barrel House. None of us were too impressed with the beers, but the atmosphere was really nice. They had a great open air bar and a nice back patio with live music and a waterfall. Both breweries were nice, given that it was not warm enough to have a beach day. We got back to the Scamp at sunset and enjoyed another great ...

... is so fresh here, from sea to restaurant, no middle-man here.

We vowed to come back next time to stay longer. So glad Curtis made a point to stop by here on the way back to N. CA. Highly recommend to anyone going to Central Coast. Camping, hiking, kayaking and paddle boarding for our family next time we visit! The longer we live in N. CA, the more we fall in love with this area.

... Alfa while towing the Jeep, and means we won't have to make the 'pull' from Santa Maria north with a full 150 gallons of fuel---good since there will be grades. Fuel definitely isn't 'inexpensive' in CA but I'll just take a nitro pill before I put the nozzle in the tank and I should be OK.

... about have to camp out. Apparently we are more hardcore than cattle roping cowboys. On the drive to Embassy Suites Inn we started quoting The Hangover. As we drove around to the front, Dale says, "Is this the real Embassy Suites?" If you haven't seen the movie, be assured this was hilarious. The guys split the room and wouldn't let us help pay.
