    ... in front. We then headed off to the main town beach. It was a really nice beach with a beautiful sea but we had no idea whether the water was cold or warm. There were also no beachside cafes or bars, so it was quite underdeveloped. I don't know if this is a good thing or bad thing. We then strolled back to the ship. Mindelo was more picturesque and interesting than we had imagined but the islands are poor. There is huge potential but no idea what the future ...

    On the 10th of November we crossed the equator - MSC had a Baptism by Neptune cermony to mark the occasion which involved having a ladle of water poured on your head and then kissing an octupus. I just watched ;)
