June 30-July 3: Unofficial campout with the Bytowners. Still had the same camping spot, same neighbours, Andy and Maria. We had suggested that everybody wear a funny hat at the Happy Hour and that turned out to be a great idea. Lots of laughter by all. ...

After getting our baby out of cold storage it is time to get her ready for a new season of exploring. May 16-20: Our first trip this year is with the By-towners back in Brockville at the Happy Green Acres campground. We took our usual place up on the hill and after set up headed down for happy hour (happy hour is a big part of camping with a group we are finding). The weather was still cold so the campfires were inside in a big boiler. Still a great time around the ...

An unexpected thing happened last night in a small town, in Canada, in November: I kicked off my covers because it was too warm. Global warming may have had a growth spurt as I slept, or the thick duvet may just have been unnecessary with the temperature at a whopping twelve degrees. Whatever the cause, the disruption to my Zs left me hitting the snooze button more than once when it was finally time to get up, fortunately Emily was also downstairs a little later as she ...

Dennis, The Fire Truck Or The Fire-Fighter?

Yesterday's tick-filled task of removing the little blighters from Zelda’s fur left me with an itching feeling all night, and not the itchy feet feeling when eager to get away, although I was eager to get away from anything that might jump onto me. Finding some form of bite on my lower leg made me suspect I’d caught a flea from somewhere, and so more paranoia ensued as I waited for the next itch to crop up. Fortunately nothing else did, but ...
