... Michigan, Lake Huron. We stopped in Munising along the 28 Highway to get some things to cook for dinner then we carried on along side Lake Superior where we found a nice scenic spot with a table so we could cook our dinner. There was a bit of fog hanging over the lake but it was still a beautiful evening.. We stopped for about an hour ...

Beautiful sunrise over the lake this morning in Paradise, MI. Left the hotel around 7am to head to the Berry Patch in Paradise as we were told they opened at 7am. We all pulled up in front of this tiny place, and the "closed" sign was still up. I went to the door and peered in, and there was a little old man inside, so I cracked the door and asked if they were open. He said he was making the coffee and ...

The first ran across in front of us. I saw it soon enough to slow way down, so there was no excitement there. The second deer was just grazing along the shoulder ...

Neither Lou nor I have ever been to the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, which is actually surprising given the amount of backpacking we have done. As we were entering the park I asked Lou why this was called Porcupine Mountains. He said he didn't know. Well, the park was going to tell us. As we drove along the coastal route before we got to the visitor center, there was something in the road. I asked Lou to slow down, as we both ...

Sept 10th-drove and drove and drove to western part of the Upper Penisula. Nice roads to drive on, not much traffic except for huge logging trucks. Drove to the Porcupine Mountains. Simply AWESOME. Lake of the Clouds just exquisite! One of the sweetest spots I've ever laid eyes on. Stopped on the southern boundary road-Jim said prettiest road he's ever been ...
