Historical Traveler Reviews Blue Boy Inn Rincon

      Blue Boy Inn is Outstanding!

      from

The Blue Boy Inn is a very private and romantic property but is in the middle of all activities in Rincon. The public beach is just steps away and all the other beautiful beaches are just a few minutes drive. Marc goes out of his way to make sure your vacation exceeds your expectations. His recommendation for a full moon horseback ride was fantastic. This property offers everything you could possibly need and a owner who makes you feel at home. The breakfast is always fresh and delicious and served with the distant sounds of the ocean, rooster, and goats. We can't wait to go back.

      One of the Best

      from

We got married in Rincon during Thanksgiving week and booked the Blue Boy Inn for some of our guests. I couldn't say enough about Marc (the owner), the rooms, the food, the gardens, etc... Everyone staying there loved it and Marc was the best host. We have been to Rincon several times and this will be the place we will stay in the future. He has plans for adding a pool and more gardens and that will make it even more incredible. Be sure to book early as I think this is going to be the place to be. Two great restaurants within walking distance too, the Shipwreck and The Spot. Keep up the good work Marc!

      Best kept secret in Rincon

      from

The Blue Boy Inn is probably best kept secret in Rincon, located in a very secluded area

The rooms are clean, the decor is simple but very elegant, the gardens are manicured to perfection and the service is excellent.

I've been to Rincon several times and stayed in much more expensive places that can not hold a candle to the Blue Boy.

Marc and his staff are very gracious host, and his home made breakfast surprises are something to look forward every morning.

In short, a great experience at a very affortable price.

A zen retreat at the beach

      from

The photos on the Blue Boy website didn't give proper justice. But how can photos possibly convey the tranquil private setting that the Blue Boy entails. The trickles of the garden's fountains, the singing frog in the waterlilies, the dozens of seating areas along meandering pathways, most shaded by pergolas overflowing with draping pink blossoms. The gardens alone could make this inn a favorate zen retreat. The location with the lovely private beach steps away, walking distance to great bars, restaurants and town of Rincon.....makes the Blue Boy the cat's meow. It took days to notice many of the small nuances Marc created in the gardens and our rooms also reflected his high attention to detail....the fine bedding, kind of city-chic decor. Marc is the discerning innkeeper who had totally satisfied this discerning travelor.

      Wonderful

      from

This is my second time staying at Blue Boy Inn and it was just as wonderful as the first. The rooms are great, the location is great and the service is great! The owner pays attention to all the little details and makes sure everything is perfect. The garden is lovely, very romantic, as are the rooms. I visit Rincon every 2 to 3 months and from now on I will keep staying at Blue Boy Inn. Beautiful!!

      Perfect

      from

Where to start? Marc is the perfect host, and the Blueboy Inn is the perfect setting. It is only a block from the beach, close enough to hear if the surf didn't have to compete with the coqui's...The room layouts are extremely comfortable, cozy but not too small, there is TV, but with few enough channels to encourage you not to watch it, HOT WATER on demand and homeade breakfast you can't miss! The room make-up and turn down service is very efficient and unobtrusive. The location is close to everywhere you need/want to visit on the west side of the island, and, though you can strike out on your own to discover West Puerto Rican cuisine, we encourage you to take Marc's advice. He was dead on with each of his recommendations. Marc blends European hospitality with tropical beauty, his personal garden at the Blueboy Inn is nothing less than magical, and his impeccable manners and attention to detail as a host topped it off. The inn's layout is perfect for a group of couples or solitary honeymoon types, offering privacy or group gathering opportunities as you wish. And Marc is not resting on his laurels, he has amazing expansion plans in the works. The beaches in the area are good for relaxing and swimming, but are best suited for surfing this time of the year because of the swells. This is a must see and a must stay, my wife and I will be making many more trips to the Blueboy Inn...

      Romantic Mini-Paradise

      from

This small 6-unit B&B just steps from the ocean is exquisite with very reasonable rates. The rooms are all spacious with sitting areas with rattan furniture, deluxe bedding ,luxurious bath towels and complimentary French bath products. The continental breakfast was served in a lovely screened porch area overlooking the ocean and included Marc's wonderful omelets. The real treat of this B&B is its magnificent gardens built by the owner. There are raised beds, arbors with intimate sitting areas, fountains and a small pond. Llush greenery is everywhere and the smell of ginger lilies right outside our door was heavenly. Other flowering plants abound, but the highlight of the gardens was the collection of many varieties of orchids.

The Inn provided towels, chairs, cooler & ice for our beach forays. The snorkeling was wonderful as the beach is part of a marine preserve. We also visited the nearby lighthouse and watched surfers. Marc recommended a snorkel trip to see a bioluminescent bay about 1 hour away. It was unbelieveable! Snorkeling in the dark, but all you do is move your hands and it's as if you are shooting sparks or fairy dust from your fingertips.

Our host, Marc, is friendly and attends to your every need. We spent our last evening in the garden with him sharing wine and cheese and learning about the renovations he made to the house to turn it into the Blue Boy Inn and how he built the gardens. I loved listening to him talk (he's a transplanted French-Canadian who also speaks English & Spanish) and we were sad to leave the hospitality and the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

We will definitely revisit the Blue Boy Inn when we go back to Puerto Rico and highly recommend it to everyone.

      Loved The Blue Boy Inn

      from

What a great find in the great town of Rincon, PR!!!

My partner and I were unsure at first about coming to the "BlueBoy Inn" and decided to take a chance!

Well, we loved it so much that we came back a few months later for a second time (and longer trip).

Marc (owner) is such a a great host who does those little things that make your stay much more comfortable and makes you want to stay there forever.

The rooms are spacious and very clean with fresh cut flowers from Marc's own garden. Speaking of the garden, all we can say is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Marc is also very knowledgeable about great restaurants! All the places we visited to eat at (using Marc's recommendations) were amazing!

Great find! We plan to go back early next spring and dont want to stay anywhere else!

Breakfast of cereal, bananas, and healthy fruit smoothies from Jean and Harry – so nice! Coffee at different local bakery – once again not great. Tootled around the area to Punta Beach on the Atlantic side. Had the best banana mocha drink and latte from Banana Dangs. Amazing!! Drank them as we walked around the lighthouse again.
