... village is so peaceful. Later we go down to see Gilberto's mother and brother so I can say goodbye to them. They are very lovely people and I have enjoyed spending time with them as well this visit. They have a Christmas present for me that I'm not allowed to open until Christmas so that when I do, I think of them! Off for pizza for dinner and then home to pack my ...

The girl was going really slow again and said we weren't going to make it, so I just split and sprinted and somehow made the train without the group, because I wasn't gonna buy another train ticket. ... skis on and set off.

Part way down the first narrow track we came to a piece of run which was cordoned off. Overnight a crevasse has opened up in the side of the run, emphasizing just how precarious the off piste skiing is on a glacier. There are signs saying not to leave the run but this was quite a large reminder.

We skied down beautifully groomed runs to the bottom of one of the top T-bars and went up the hill to the very top. The cloud cleared ...
