    It was raining when we awoke this morning in Hazard Kentucky at the Hampton Inn so we were pleased to have a rest day to do laundry, repair bikes and just relax a bit before heading into the hills once again. On the older roads the grades run up to 17 % while the state highway routes are gentler, but longer as they climb and fall along the topography of Eastern Kentucky.
