Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina suzloua... as it snowed and shown blue sky 3 different times the day before.
We had a crew of two young guys and 7 other passengers to board the rugged Lady If... Our first stop was to a Sea Lion colony just out of Ushuaia Bay. Here we saw well fed sea lions hopping / climbing their way up the jagged rocky island.
Next we visited ¨H Island¨ where the name of this island was derived from its shape of an ¨H¨of all things... Here we ...
... pela neve, nas queria ver mais. Sentido que seria perigoso e jah exausto, voltei lentamente ao refugio e ao teleferico logo a frente. A caminhada toda durou umas 3 horas.
... not make sense to me and I had trouble visualizing this southern place as anything but a warm beach. He continued to tell me about the strong winds at the southern tip of South America and the strong tides. Anything in which nature exhibits exceptionally strong forces has always interest me. I would have dreams about this place, but always wonder what it was really like. For this reason, I added this remote place to my ...
Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina 90daywalkabout... find nothing there. Probably because they were all enjoying their afternoons in some sunny corner of the landfill I could not reach. I thereby conclude, beyond the smallest percentile of a doubt, that not only are dumps marvelous places to spend a few hours, but they are also signifcantly more important in conserving biodiversity than, say, a nice riparian stretch of river, or old-growth forest.
Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina nathangie... interesting that the region is called Tierra del Fuego, land of fire, because when the europeans arrived, the yamanas has fires going all the time and in many places. The next day I hiked up to Glacier Martial with a crew from my hostel, Gailee from France, Will from Edmonton and Dennis from Hungary. It took almost all day to get to the top, but the views were worth it once we got there. The water is delicious right off the glacier.

Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina ann.and.trevor... company with the only license to land amongst the penguin colony on the little island! It was really cool to see them so close up and they had 2 month old chicks who were loosing their baby fluff so there were penguin feathers blowing around everywhere! There were lots of penguins lying on their tummies having a mid afternoon nap and others ducking in and out of the water bobbing about in the waves. On the way back to the shore we saw about 6 ...
Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina feeandpeteLand Ho! We were happy to be getting back on solid ground today - although we have been very fortunate with smooth and calm seas for this whole journey thus far. Jim unfortunately has a terrible cold and I am trying to figure out which day it is going to strike me. The weather was looking a bit questionable today - so we threw the umbrellas in the bags and headed out. We had to tender today but fortunately they were ...
Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina jimstephkrueger... Viedma TO: Puerto Piramides FINISH: 2691 km Sleep, wake up, breakfast, load the bags and off again for a day of kilometre munching. This now familiar routine which comprises hours on the bike with nothing but the voice inside your helmet for company...it does allow for some amusing ponderings. One that got me thinking today was from the wonderful world of Italian Gelato. It was up at Iguazu Falls when Pier and I went to the local gelateria, and despite the gelato being of ...
