    ... Salsa and Beer. They serve more than salsa and beer. The parking lot and the surrounding streets for the S&B is packed. Popular place. A good sign of good eats. We were not disappointed and large portions too. Fran will be eating Mexican left overs for a few days. Several nice salsas and I had a Negro Modelo. Fran had a Bohemian. We need more Bohemians.     ... tire chains for the truck but I sure don't want to have to haul our 14,000 pound 5ver over a snow and ice covered road.

    Sunday morning, October 13th.

    No snow had fallen at our 4600' elevation. That is a good sign. I don't see any on the surrounding foothills. Another good sign. I checked with the weather guessers via the internet and the temperature at Truckee was already 32 degrees. A great sign indeed.

    ... ve ever seen! James.....there are loads of cyclists doing this route.....you would love it!!!! At one point we stopped off, got off the bike and saw a huge seal sleeping on the beach. A lady told us to walk along a little and as we got round the corner there were about a 1000 elephant seals all up on the beach!!! Wow!!! Certainly not something you see everyday!! ...
