This Friday, August 16 we set out on our (almost) cross-country trip. We leave from our house in Chatham, NJ with major destination being Yellowstone National Park where we will camp for seven nights. We're taking four days to get there and 4 days home. ... the day of the event. Everyone takes the competition extremely seriously, and the girls were desperate to win, since girls have only won 7 times in the last 45 years. The evening of the competition was really enjoyable, and showcased just how talented the kids are French Woods are. It would have been nice to take a siesta. We sat in the sun on some rocks but could have sat on the high bank in the shade. I was afraid of mosquitoes so insisted we sit in the sun. Poor Otto got sunburned. But it seemed as if it was going to be a long row back - the wind had shifted once or twice and now it seemed we had another headwind.

Breakfast at the Cafe a traditional US Style with lots if pick up trucks out front. Then back to camp for a personal tour led by Mr Ethan. And the family. We then headed off to lake whatever via Walmart where we got groceries for a picnic lunch. Had two great hours with a new speedboat on the lake, that was a bit choppy.
