    ... the subway or feeding the rats pizza...but on my walk back to Grand Central I did go over on my ankle and fall over on the crosswalk! Whoops! Whilst my poor little hand wasn't too happy, I did smile thinking "well I didn't jump onto the subway, but I have just fallen over on a crosswalk in busy Manhattan..." On the plus side I made it to my train with 7 minutes to spare and sat back for the next 50 minutes.

    I have always wanted to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge so today was my chance!!! I caught the subway over to Brooklyn ( High St A-C station) which was right near to the start of the bridge. I am so glad I was advised to walk towards Manhattan instead of walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn.

    ... you again! The climb up "Stair way to heaven", as I was told it was called by a local hiker we met on the climb up, was fun and brutal at the same time! There were some great views - even in the dark. The night hike ended at 11:11pm. We found a flat/soft.......perfect campsite, it made the long hike tonight (well, a tad under 4 miles - but that long/steep climb up in the dark - made it seem like a longer hike.) well worth the effort...........and later this ...
