Woke to find an overcast and very chilly day. Wind had a bite to it. It was 11 degrees C when we left the motel. Decided to go for plan B which was a tour of the western tip of the Lower Peninsular of Michigan rather than freezing on Mackinac Island.

Motel does not serve breakfast and the restaurant next door was not open at 7.30 even though they advertise breakfast on their website. Drove into St Ignace and found Java Joe's Cafe which has ...

Went to the Soo Locks which is quite a tourist strip. Quite a few people there but not out on the streets in the rain. Did not have time to actually tour the hotel grounds, but enjoyed riding by it. Definitely brings ...

... into Georgian Bay and found better water depths. The Trent-Severn was very interesting, but with only 6' of water depth "guaranteed", the trip through the canal was somewhat stressful with our draft of almost 5'. We did hit our props twice even though it visually looked like we were in the channel, but we had them repaired and continued on our way.

Our first stop in Georgian Bay was beautiful Bay Port Marina in Midland where we were greeted by still ...

We arrived at Straits State Park Campground this afternoon. Lovely campground-beautiful forest. Soon after arriving we received notice from Visa that our account had been compromised. Remember the news this morning about the billions of passwords, email addresses, etc. hacked? Well, apparently we are in that group. A bus ticket originating from Great Britain was charged and ...
