    Today was a day for SPEED! After departing Solvang we rolled through the Santa Ynez Valley passing numerous wineries (no tasting and riding!). Next we climbed about 2000 feet past Lake Cachuma then up and over San Marcos pass. We departed from HIghway 154 about 4 miles from the top of the pass. We then climbed to the top of the pass on the old country road that originally was the stage coach route over the mountains.
