Next stop way of a detour, we decided to drive the bus through Rodeo Drive, Sunset Boulevard and Mullholland Drive to show the kids what 'high society' really looks like! Beverly Hills property is completely off the scale and the Playboy mansion is rather impressive in more ways than one!! Thankfully, driving it on a Sunday morning meant that we could saunter around with very little traffic to navigate although not too slow to avoid ...

... and I guarding the precious spot, to do as modern man does, hunt down a walmart. Unfortunately the moment he drove up the hill, I spotted a squirrel regarding us beadily.  How charming I thought - local wildlife! Then ten more appeared, surrounding us. I pretended not to be absolutely terrified of these rats with bushy tails who were totally not frightened of anything, but Eva saw through my act and clung to me terrified. Alas, Eds hunting took longer than expected and two hours ...

... and the traffic was expected to be awful. Luckily we were on the road early enough and managed to get to Ventura at a reasonable hour.

Ventura is one of LA's northern beaches and is a favourite getaway for Angelenos. It is north of Santa Monica beach. The camp site we have arrived at is not quite what we were expecting but will do for our first night back in the RV.
