    ... with the squerrlls (we even rescued 4 from the rubbish bins having established they weren't bears or rabid raccoons), watched teams of rowers on the lake belt up and down and read our books. Having to learn to live without any cybernet is easy when there is no choice!!

    When we were in Las Vegas, lounging in a hot tub at the campsite, a lady told us about this place. It is right along Highway 1 and they have marked off parking places for RVs to park.     ... the oars. Luck continued in our favor as the boat landed right side up. The motor shut itself off and evidently never got dunked. And whatever the crunching sound was nothing about the dinghy seems broken. Unfortunately our prescription eyeglasses didn’t float and were never found.

    ... We intended to leave today with or without a working generator but then Generac said they’d next day the replacement for the defective part initially sent. OK, one more day. We went to a movie and then met Dori & Nubi at the Las Paz restaurant for dinner. Getting to spend more time with family was the only good side effect for the delayed repair and our travels.

    ... and watched a 40 minute movie on how the castle was designed and built. There was some great old footage. I left Hearst Castle and had to pull over almost immediately as I spotted 3 zebras on the side of the road. They were descendants from animals William Hearst had in his private zoo up at the castle while he was alive. Back on the road I carried on to a town called Cayucos.
