As we drove closer to San Marino, we all started saying, "Did she REALLY say "the NATION" of San Marino?? And that's exactly what it was: It's full title is "The Republic of San Marino". John will do doubt tell you of its history. It's set high on a mountain, with the most glorious view and was yet another treasure chest waiting to be opened for us! It was our nicest hotel by far - VERY upmarket! - and it was exciting to follow the ...
... as each seat filled the novelty soon wore off. It became cramped and uncomfortable... both physically and socially. As soon as we got to Austria however, the stunning views of the huge, steaming mountain forests, and ice blue rivers took our minds off the traveling conditions. On several occasions we couldn't help but gasp and 'wow' at the surroundings (which I felt quite guilty for doing because there was a blind woman in our carriage).
Nevertheless, it is an understatement to ...

... front. The beach is broken into sections each section has a restaurant, sporting stuff (basketball hoops, Volleyball, Gyms, etc.) lounge chairs and umbrellas. Some even have an outdoor gym. The beach is actually sand, which is a novelty for Italy. We picked up some of the free bikes from the hotel and rode all around the city. I stopped and had a quick swim, Outside of the fact both of our asses were completely numb and bruised afterwards (not the best bikes ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy moore_mattj... There is the most incredible sheen to them; some are from the 3rd - 4th centuries AD, and yet they look like they were created yesterday. Pretty much everything else in Europe has been - as Mat so delicately puts it - "covered in cherubs and gilt!", and it's unexpected to find a place so untouched through the Renaissance.
Next time we will make a few days for this lovely town.
... right side in the clear with a few precious, unmolested moments. I looked down the field at Piva and Panzani who have drawn the majority of the defensive attention. The diversion is working perfectly. I pull up short of the line of scrimmage and look back to my left where Reggie is indeed hanging out on the sideline just about at the line of scrimmage with a linebacker watching him from 5 yards in front. I flashed angry for a second because it was exactly what I ...
Milano Marittima, Emilia-Romagna, Italy mavsqb1No program for the afternoon so we planned our escape to the beach by the pool. Whilst it is difficult to leave the pool adventure is a foot. Cagli was an option but the beach had the greater pull. about a 45 minute drive to Fano. Denis Hieke Mandy & I set off after lunch but the clouds were set to close in on us as we headed towards the coast.
Fano is a topical Italian beach resort town. I have never seen so many beach umbrellas and ...
A disgrace I know, but I didn’t take any pictures in Forli , in fact I almost didn’t take any NOTICE of Forli at all. A slight distraction in the midst of me preparing last year accounts and my VAT returns before we depart for Asia. I had to get it done and yes I felt like a boring old b******d but when it was all done it was wonderful. The hotel here was nice ...
Forli, Emilia-Romagna, Italy mamma-mia... Naturally we got a t-shirt and the man showed us then his own garage with bikes he owned which was really special. He invited us for coffee but we had to get moving on. What a top day we had. Heading north we finally left the lowlands and reached the Dolomite mountains and camped by a lovely lake, Lake Garda. The lake is famous for windsurfing most of the year and the campsite catered for them. The views were beautiful of the soaring mountains behind us.
