    A sanctuary in the mayhem of a city

    If you are looking 'for reasonably priced accomodation in the heart of Sukhumvit this i sht eplace. Clean rooms with friendly staff and freshly cooked breakfast what more can you ask for,

    ... I think this immigration officer was about to finish her night shift because all she mumbled was 'look in camera' - well that was the easiest country I've ever entered! It's not that easy to enter the blinking UK!     I took a Skytrain to the boat pier (as the older parts of Bangkok are not served by public transportation and I am trying to avoid taxis and tuktuks where possible.

    From the pier it was nice boat ride up the river to the pier between Wat Poh and the Grand Palace. After a short walk and attaching my zip-off pants' legs I went into the palace for another staggering 500 Baht and walked around.

We had a heck of a time getting the SIM card out again, but finally got it working and the people at the counter were very helpful in calling in the number to add money to the account and get it all set up so I could just start calling people when I walked out of the store.
