    ... advantage was that we had airco, we arrived in about the same time as the bus, 4:30 instead of 5 hours. The road from Maya beach is real pretty though and the scenery impressive driving through hills of fantastic vegetation, palm trees and banana plantations.     ... on many others stages of my travels, using say a Mcdonalds as a point of reference is not always a great idea...as you soon learn , usually with whoops ,and followed by a nervous "on my god, i could be lost again ' laugh, but hey all part of the adventure !
    it was a beautiful morning, so i stopped for lunch at my fauvorite restaurant for Taliba ( oysters ) delicious and so cheap , i think something crazy like 60 pesos for a dozen oysters... thast $1.50 NZ.. woo hooo ...
