... the country. The drive into town was mad, bumper to bumper traffic and nobody cared if those bumpers were actually touching or not. We arrived at the bike hire place and, rather amusingly, they asked Mark whether he had crashed HIS bike. I got my passport back, we paid 100 pesos for them to clean the bikes and we walked off never to return. We found a Malaysian restaurant not far from the airport and stopped to get some food. It was odd but I decided on satay, until ...

After being away from the beach for a few days, we are headed back to a beach on a small island called Malapascua. I picked this island because of its popularity for diving, and white sand beaches. I am SO excited. I know it's only been a few days but I missed being on the beach! I miss the smell of the ocean and sounds of the crashing waves. There is no denying I was probably a fish in my previous lifetime. The ride to this island is about 4-5 hours and there are vans and taxis ...

... authority. You just walk off the boat and are in Cebu. Cebu is the countries second biggest city. As beautiful as the Philippines are the cities are pretty much awful places with only a tiny exception of small areas of Manila and Dumaguete.
We have to walk through industrial land to get to the road. I'd say this place is the poorest place I've ever been. To our left there is a huge rusty shanty town, there are children beating a rolled up ...
