The pre-trip

So I haven't actually flown out yet, but I'm planning to.. In 9 hours. I just wanted to get my fans pumped up to read more about my adventures.

It's snowing a lot outside (in GFPK). I foresee a nice 1.5 hour bus ride from downtown Montreal to PET airport.

Montreal

There is a mighty river flowing from a great inland sea. Half way down the river is an isle with a mountain in the middle. Around the mountain is a city. First people called it Ville Marie. We called it Montreal in Middle French

In the center of the city is a plaza where Iroquois defended themselves against whites. Now the place is taken by a bank. Both sides lost.

Around the plaza were the cobblestone streets with the stores closed ...

Morar sozinho só tem um problema: a solidão. E no meu caso, ela se torna uma companhia ...

Day 109 Montreal Canada

... of the city so we knew we were on track. We found Rue St Catherine and felt a little more comfortable, but gee which way? Left or right? We chose wisely and headed left and found the next street appeared to be in the correct direction of the information centre we had taken the tour from, (there were three information centres marked on the map just to confuse us a little more. We decided we were tracking well and Karon was happy, Rue St Catherine had all the brand name shops, she must ...

Day 17, Monday, August 11, 2008

... We made our way through Cleveland, OH, then Erie, PA, (missed the border crossing into PA), Buffalo, NY, (we opted not to divert to Niagra Falls - been there done that - (http://www.niagarafallsinfo.com/)), Rochester, NY, Syracuse, NY, and then finally past Thousand Island where we crossed into Canada. The Customs officer was amused with our story of ...

Can't Believe It's Been 6 Years

... We stumbled upon the Montreal Jazz Festival, and then headed to an incredible dinner at the House of Jazz. As the band played I was in a daze. Good music, good food, good company, it was the perfect ending to an enchanting day. The lead singer had a request for "What a Wonderful World". As I sat listening, I kept nodding my head in agreement. This truly is a wonderful world we live in.

Going Global at the Biosphere

... made our own film about the way water is recycled. Check it out on the slideshow. For anyone interested in visiting the Biosphere, be sure to take the Metro there because you get a 20 percent discount on your entrance. The regular fee for adults is 9.50$, but we only paid 7.10$ each. What a bargain! Afterwards we walked the grounds, had some fun with the outside activities and then headed back across St. Laurent River on the Metro.

little bit of culture time

... was great as I had missed the real thing when I had been in Paris with Karen. Headed back to the hostel about 6ish to make some dinner and catch up with some other people and headed out on the organised Pub Crawl for the evening. Met a Helen (from Wales) and we had a blast, it was great to us unleash everything and have a fun time out. Think we managed to get back in the early hours of the morning. But is was a great night out.
