... how deep the water was and I wasn't volunteering to wade it find out, as we were on our own we decided to reverse out and retrace our steps. Back at the main road we drove into Keramoti to catch a ferry to Thassos, one of Greece's greenest and gentle islands. It has sandy beaches hidden in rocky coves and pine clad mountains. ... but Kinda found a nice hotel with a great breakfast and view of Kavala for about 50 euro a night. It was about 3 Kms to the city but a taxi was less than 4 euro.

At the bottom of the old city was an ancient aqueduct that transported water from the mountains. We had an authentic Greek fish meal which was nice. Lot's of cats were around to eat any leftovers and it seems there are many stray dogs and cats in ...
