We drove back into the last village that we passed through to fill with water. There was a small harbour and pleasant sea front. We then drove around the last part of the road around the island. ... how deep the water was and I wasn't volunteering to wade it find out, as we were on our own we decided to reverse out and retrace our steps. Back at the main road we drove into Keramoti to catch a ferry to Thassos, one of Greece's greenest and gentle islands. It has sandy beaches hidden in rocky coves and pine clad mountains. ... a few kilometres town a track that at times was very wet and muddy. The centre was all closed up and the gates locked.
