... note, there is no possible way to travel and be on a diet at the same time! We caught our train that afternoon and I spent those three hours discussing some of the many complexitites of life with Reid haha.
All in all, I'd have to say that the pace of Cadiz was much slower than the pace of Cordoba, So things are the same in Spain - things just slow down at the beach. It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend - my first traveling venture! Plenty more to come....
... to communicate. We were able to watch Flamingo dancing at the center in town as there was a special performance that night and the star was a young man who grew up in Cadiz and Loly and her husband have known as a child. After the show we went to lunch with Sergio and Oscar their sons. Oscar is older and speaks a little English and looks just like Jon Vaglio. Crazy. That morning both sons were at a casting call for a movie to be made with Tom ...
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands mamafeathersToday was the second and last excursion we did through Holland America. Jacqui had wanted to see the Andalusian horse show, and we could also get in a sherry tasting with it!
First off was the tour of the Gonzales Byass winery. I'm not a big fan of the normal sherries, but I love the sweet sherries. And it was cheap. I got a ...
... something to see. After the show we headed to another white village town called Arcos de la Frontera. This was another cobble stoned hillside town set among 2 churches and a convent. We had a nice lunch and walked around the town. The streets were narrow and tiny and mike did a great job of navigating through the narrow roads (he's getting much better)...we left and started our 2.5 hour drive from there to Nerja our destination for the next 7 days ...
Jerez de la Frontera, Andalusia, Spain stacicheck... up as bees, butterflies, doctors and other things. I thought I might have drunk too much, but my friends noticed that too. We tried to overhear some conversations to find out what was going on, but it was hard because of the noise of the ocean. Little did we know that Cadiz was about to transform that night into a giant stage for a festival of I-don't-know-and-I-don't-want-to-know-w hat, with people dressing up, dancing, drinking, smoking and making out in ...

Cádiz, Spain verow... saw the old fortresses that used to protect Spain from the water. Around 2pm CIEE let us do our own thing for the rest of the afternoon. My friends and I grabbed some drinks and went to the beach to eat our bocadillos. Then we just laid on the beach until 5:30 when it was time to go. It felt great to just relax and soak up the sun. All in all it was a wonderful day and I hope I can get back to Cadiz before the end of the trip. ~Megan
Cadiz, Spain mingozingoBecause the ferry was late I had missed the 8pm pick up and so decided to walk. Technically it's only 2km but the ferry terminal was at the opposite end of town and I was wearing flip flops... my feet were sore. I was just outside of town when a car beeped and stopped and 3 guys yelled at me to come over. It was ok, they were some of the eye candy from the hostel and they gave me a lift back to the hostel. They ...
Tarifa, Spain tokyo_cate... that sort of thing only existed on postcards? Before heading into Cadiz, and after taking a detour into the very scenic but slightly smelly marshes, we stopped for the night at the Chiclana beach resort. After a walk along the beach we met up with Victor, who with his friend Julian has recently returned from a camper van trip around West Africa following pretty much the same route we intend to take. As Victor is a chef (and local bar owner) he produced a fantastic ...
