Hi all, we are still in Silves. Unbeknown to us, we seem to have landed on one of the best campsites around and now we are reluctant to move on. It is good as we are close to the historical town centre (5 mins) which is seriously old (still the Moors and Christians fighting after they kicked out the Romans), there is electric connections, free internet, a supermarket two minutes away, good showers, few tourists and loads ...

I'll admit, living in the Rockies and along the Pacific Ocean had me thinking I had seen what the world has to offer when it comes to natural beauty. Lagos totally took us by surprise with it's turquoise waters, surreal sandstone formations, adrenalin inducing cliffs and wacky hostel buddy (Hugo). Indeed, I am now convinced the world has beauty secrets I could never have imagined.

After some chilly days in Grenada and Seville, we were still rejoicing ...

Silves (sounds like Silvesh) is a lovely town. We drove from Portimao about 20 kms. Castello was interesting, built by the moors (Arabs) including a 1.2m litre water tank dug in the rock. Now you can walk inside. Used for over a 1000 years and retired in 1980's. Not bad ...
