    ... a sheriffs deputy pulled up right behind us and lit us up. This guy had zero grace and a nasty attitude for so early in the morning. He promptly kicked us out of the truck bed and berated the driver for trying to help us out. I have quite a tangent to pursue on the state of law enforcement in this country but we will save that for another angle. The driver did reduce our four mile walk to the scissors into about two and we were glad for it. Back to the scissors and moving down trail ...

    April 21st Woke up around 5, left camp bout 6:30. Rebecca went to use outhouse at sunrise trailhead but someone had taken the roll of awesome cottonelle left by an angel in the right hand stall that I had seen earlier the day before and had used myself not 20 minutes before Rebecca. I told her she didn't need to take our tp as there was a roll of the "good stuff" in there. When she realized there wasn't any anymore, instead of walking all the way ...

    The conference has finished so the real holiday can begin!

    We waved bye-bye to the Grand Hyatt and to Downtown and headed east. We went uphill and we went downhill. With the three of us and all our lugguage, the poor car had to work quite hard to get us over the hills. It didn't take long after leaving the city to find ourselves in the wilderness. Not quite the Sahara, but the surrounding landscape ...

    ... week we worked on clearing fallen trees by dragging large limbs and putting them in the industrial chipper. It was AWESOME! I look like I have been fighting a cat. We went on a couple hikes this week and I have a few pictures from that. I will post more about my housing this next weekend. Thats all for now!
