... So we got up around 7 to get ready for the three-hour tour, Sophie came with us. We arrived too early, so we had to wait for our guide, John. John's got family in Friesland and he knew a few Dutch expressions which he repeated often while kayaking, such as 'fantastisch' and 'heel mooi' and he thought these were Frisian (which they aren't), but he didn't know 'oant moarn' (which is Frisian).

... all the way back to New Foundland, in fact. It's a fitting way to mark the completion of my own Trans Canada adventure...nearly 2500 miles ago I was in Charlottetown, PEI - seems like a long time ago now.

It's my last night in Victoria but there isn't much going on in the hostel, sadly...the pub quiz has been cancelled. Oh well. Another beer and another cheap dinner and I head to bed. The next morning I check out, say so long, farewell to the girls ...
