... was chasing a fish, caught it & was teaching one of the cubs to kill it…gruesome stuff really! I managed to take a few minutes of video.…on the way out we are both chatting away about how remarkable it was, how satisfied by this day we both were & the guide stopped to point out some bear tracks in the sand - which is honestly one of the most fantastic things I have ever seen in my life. Bear foot prints. How lucky am I?!!

We sailed down from the Inside Passage and berthed at Ketchikan this morning at 10am. Our tour for today from 11am was City highlights,Totems and Creek Street by trolley which lasted an hour and a quarter and was just ok. ... but that was a five-hour endeavor and I had a ship to catch.

In fact, I only had a couple of hours before I had to be back at the ship. At the bottom of the trail, I set my timer for forty-five minutes and began my ascent. The trail was muddy, mossy, full of roots and crumbling shale. Forty minutes later, I found a view – not the top, but good enough. I took a breath and a few pictures and then RAN down the hill the best I could, ...

... house - I'm not sure we could have done it at that point, we were so wiped out.
So here we are in Cahpel Hill. We're lucky to have such a beautiful place to come home to and soon we will have lots of family with us here. I took a walk today and saw the lake and deer and squrirels and trees and flowers- not bad. I still feel the ocean inside of me. I feel like this trip changed something in both Marty and me and I hope the change lasts. ...
