We have no real plans today. But gear up for the ferry sailing tomorrow to Petersburg. I can't say that we really did anything special, but sure seemed tired at the end of the day. ... Many of the "streets" are actually sets of steep steps that go up the side of hills. We saw lots of interesting things to photograph. We visited the Totem Pole Heritage Centre that housed examples of original totem poles from the 1800's. We were allowed to take photos, so we did!! Outside of this centre we saw a wild deer. Photographed him/her from a safe distance - was quite a young animal.

... as we had different shopping we wanted to do. I looked through the shops, which were very touristy but found them interesting. I bought a two caps and a beanie, which were in a special plus a couple of pair of Alaskan patterned socks.

We met us again as arranged and continued around the shops finding a beautifully carved Walrus. We anguished over buying it, as its price was about $170.00 and would have looked nice at Muriwai. Unfortunately we did not ...

... it was $3 a bet and the number of bets on each horse determined how much a win paid. I outlaid $9 and won $12 and laughed a lot. We meandered along to the lobby and Allan and Sharon wanted to book an excursion for Juneau the next day and I wanted to see passenger services regarding the internet packge I’d prepaid – couldn’t work out how to log on since it asked for a password and I didn’t have one.
