Decided to see the upper end of the Lost Coast drive. We started with 3/4 of a tank of gas thinking it would be fine. It almost was not. Lost Coast was foggy and beautiful but very remote. We had to get up around 7 in order for us to go try biscuits nearby. By the time we were ready it was nearly 7:30 and Colin seemed a bit annoyed. He drove us around the corner to one of the quirky breakfast places. There were by chance 3 seats at the breakfast bar left. Biscuits are basically savoury scones, with bacon and egg it was ok but once I added hot sauce (breakfast hot sauce) it basically became the best breakfast I'd ever eaten. Charlotte wasn’t impressed. The Coast Redwood facts are that it is the World's tall trees and grows to nearly 380 feet. It may live to 2200 years. The average age of the trees are between 500 - 700 years. They have no known killing diseases and do not suffer significant damage by nature. These survive only in California and it got me wondering why they haven't grown in the mIlford area of NZ as that environment seems perfect.

... Yes, we did! We rented one for an hour and went out on the dunes. There was 12 dunes that you could ride over and when you got to the 12th one, you could see the Pacific. Well, you could tell there was an ocean out there but we really could not see the ocean. It was a little scary at first, but we got used to it and we both enjoyed it.
