... Lots of viewpoints along the way eg Cape Foulweather named by Captain Cook- guess why?-. It was very windy coming off the sea and cooler than we have known. Further on we saw the Oregon Dunes -the area is named Dune City - some by the road were spectacular. The road went for a bit past many lakes and eventually we arrived here at Coos Bay where Ocean going freight ships come ...

... Once we finished up our tour, we stayed to enjoy the forest and hike a bit more before we headed north through the south coast of Oregon.  It's a completely wild and raw coast, which makes it all the more appealing because there's not a lot there.  Along the way we stopped in Bandon to check things out (if you're a links golf player this is the place for you) and then made our way to our stop for the night at Umpqua State Lighthouse. Love to all, Stacy ...
