Sioux City... Actually North Sioux City which is in South Dakota as opposed to Sioux City which is in Iowa and South Sioux City which is in Nebraska. We were in all threes states within ten minutes time. We went to the Sergeant Floyd River Boat and learned much about Sergeant Floyd the Lewis and Clark expedition. Craig heard there was a candy shop downtown so we had to go the Palmer's Old Tyme Candy Shoppe and buy a bag full!

Today was fun - we visited the future birthplace of Capt. James T. Kirk, and also John Wayne's birthplace, in lovely Winterset, Iowa. Winterset is the county seat of Madison County, of the "Bridges of . . ." fame. We may go back through there to spend more time ...

We were about 25 mile from so we said we would meet there. We got to the Amber motel and Mike was a little behind us. Mexican was our choice for supper. Great food. When your in the ice cream Capitol of the World you have to an ice cream cone. So we did!!!!!!! We drove 167 miles today with no car ...

Today we started the day with a bite of breakfast and then to Walmart to restock the refrigerator. As soon as we were organized we headed off to Mt. Rushmore. They show a video explaining how, why, and by whom the mountain was sculpt in the museum. I really appreciated being given a better understanding while viewing the monument. What an amazing undertaking! Heading out of Rapid City we took a 30 mile scenic loop of the Badlands National Park. It was so unusual and somewhat ...
