    We got a good night’s sleep and were up around 7. We had breakfast at the motel and were out by 9. Cool, cloudy and windy today. Good for driving - no glare from the sun. Pretty straight highway as we drive across Illinois on Hwy 80, which is a pretty straight highway and in good condition.     Two days all about driving and quite a bit of it in the rain. The 275 mile drive across Iowa, literally a straight line due west on Hwy 20, was under a big black shifting cloud changing from mist to rain to a few bright spots to heavy foreboding gloom again. Not at all conducive to taking photos let alone stopping anywhere other than for short get-out-and-walk-about-a-bit breaks at truck stops.

    Sioux City... Actually North Sioux City which is in South Dakota as opposed to Sioux City which is in Iowa and South Sioux City which is in Nebraska. We were in all three states within ten minutes time. We went to the Sergeant Floyd River Boat and learned much about Sergeant Floyd the Lewis and Clark expedition. Craig heard there was a candy shop downtown so we had to go the Palmer's Old Tyme Candy Shoppe and buy a bag full!
