Known as Brugge here, Bruges was built originally as a fortress in the ninth century, with the intention of warding off marauding Vikings, but now it is one of Europe's best preserved medieval cities. We entered Bruges through one of its gates. In the 19th century ...

... we stopped in a nightshop aka a corner store that sells junk food and we picked up some Belgian snacks. I am saving the Belgian wafer cookies until tomorrow when we go to a bakery, but I did find Bolognese flavoured chips. Can't wait to try them, should be interesting!

Tomorrow Jaey is going to take me walking through the city, we are going to go to a Belgian bakery, a Belgian Brewery. So looking forward to it!
